In the wake of a sudden directive to close all schools today due to harsh weather conditions, the Private Schools Association of District Rajouri has expressed concern over the late timing of the announcement, urging the district administration to issue such orders in advance.

In a formal communication addressed to the Hon’ble District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Abdul Raouf Dar, President of the JK Private Schools Association, highlighted the logistical and safety challenges faced by schools, students, and parents alike due to the abrupt closure.

“By the time the order was circulated, most private school buses were already on their morning routes. This caused widespread confusion, inconvenience, and unnecessary travel,” the letter stated. The association acknowledged and appreciated the administration’s concern for student safety but emphasized the need for prior communication — ideally by the previous evening — especially when weather conditions can be predicted in advance.

The association has requested the administration to leverage available weather forecasts and alerts to plan and inform schools proactively. "Early information can help us avoid chaos and ensure children’s safety without disruption," Dar added.

The appeal comes with a tone of cooperation, reaffirming the association's continued support to the administration in all matters of public safety and welfare.

Vice Chairman District Development Council (VC DDC) Janab Shabir Ahmed Khan visited Panchayat Derari to listen to the concerns of the local residents. During the visit, several public issues were discussed, and some were resolved on the spot. The people of Derari appreciated his proactive approach and thanked him for his dedicated efforts, especially for the widening of the B.G to Manjakote road, which has significantly improved connectivity and ease of travel in the area.

A large number of locals gathered to welcome and interact with the VC DDC during the visit. Shabir Ahmed Khan assured the public that their genuine demands would be taken up with the concerned departments on priority.
