ANANTNAG: A wave of grief spread through the nomadic community in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district after a teenage boy was found dead in the High Ground Sarnal area on Thursday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Majid Doyi, son of Mohammad Iqbal Doyi, a resident of Kandyal Katra. According to official sources, the youth was found hanging just outside his family’s temporary residential shelter.
Local authorities were alerted immediately following the discovery. Police teams rushed to the site to take possession of the body, which was subsequently shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for required medico-legal formalities and an autopsy.
While the circumstances surrounding the death are currently unclear, the police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated a formal investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident. The sudden death of the teenager has left the local nomadic settlement in a state of shock and mourning.
