
Rajouri, , September 9, 2023 – The Jammu and Kashmir Women Development Corporation recently organized a one-day program focused on the twin issues of Bhrashtacharmukt Abhyaan (Anti-Corruption Campaign) and Drug Deaddiction at the Government Medical College (GMC) associated hospitals in Rajouri. The event, attended by over 100 individuals, brought together law enforcement officials, medical professionals, district counselors, and faculty members of GMC.
The program featured several prominent speakers who shared valuable insights on combating corruption and addressing the pressing issue of drug addiction in society. Among the notable attendees were DYSP Hq Sh. Mudasir Chowdhary, Dr. Imran, a psychiatrist, Sajad Bhat, district counselor, and representatives from GMC.
During his address, DYSP Hq Sh. Mudasir Chowdhary highlighted the importance of understanding and enforcing the laws related to drug peddlers. He passionately urged the community to unite and take proactive measures to eliminate drug-related issues from their neighborhoods. His emphasis on community involvement and awareness was well-received by the audience.
Dr. Imran, a renowned psychiatrist, shed light on the de-addiction facilities available at GMC. He stressed the significance of the outpatient department (OPD) and counseling services in GMC, encouraging participants to seek help for their loved ones if they were battling drug addiction. Dr. Imran emphasized that timely intervention and support could save lives.
Sajad Bhat, district counselor and coordinator of the Nasha Mukt Abhyaan (Drug-Free Campaign), shared insights into ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse in the region. He spoke about the continuous counseling provided to students and parents, educating them about the harmful effects of drugs. Sajad Bhat also mentioned the regular parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) conducted in schools to increase awareness among parents and students about the dangers of drug addiction.
As part of the program, speakers fronm GMC also shared their veiws regarding contributions to the Bhrashtacharmukt Abhyaan (Anti-Corruption Campaign). Speakers encouraged attendees to actively discourage corruption in society, emphasizing the need for integrity and accountability in public life.
The one-day program served as an important platform for dialogue, education, and collaboration among various stakeholders in the fight against corruption and drug addiction. It reinforced the message that collective efforts, community involvement, and awareness campaigns are crucial in addressing these pressing issues in Jammu and Kashmir.
