Rajouri, Mar 16: Strong resentment is brewing among residents of Rajouri against the alleged misconduct of delivery staff associated with Ekart Logistics, with many locals accusing them of harassment, abusive behaviour and unfair practices during parcel deliveries.
Several residents have complained that courier personnel are not delivering parcels at the customers’ doorsteps despite the service being part of the delivery system. Instead, they reportedly ask customers to come to the roadside or nearby points to collect their packages.
Locals alleged that in many cases the delivery staff are demanding extra money from customers for doorstep delivery. According to residents, if customers refuse to pay the additional charges, the parcels are either delayed or customers are asked to collect them themselves from the road or nearby locations.
Residents have also raised serious concerns over the behaviour of some courier workers, claiming that they use abusive language while interacting with the public. The issue has become more sensitive as several complaints suggest that women customers are being repeatedly called and asked to come out on the road to collect their parcels instead of receiving them at their homes.
“This is not only inconvenient but also humiliating, especially for women who are being forced to step out and collect parcels from the roadside,” said a local resident while expressing anger over the situation.
People in different parts of Rajouri have strongly resented what they describe as “loot and harassment” by certain courier personnel and have demanded immediate action from the authorities as well as the company concerned.
Residents have urged the management of Ekart Logistics to look into the complaints and ensure that delivery staff follow proper professional conduct and provide doorstep delivery without demanding any extra money.
The public has also appealed to the district administration to take note of the grievances and ensure strict action against those found involved in misbehaviour, harassment or unfair charging practices so that such incidents do not continue in the future.
