Rajouri | June 7, 2025 — In a bold and growing resistance against the arbitrary and exploitative practices of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, employees across various departments are now being urged to join a mass account migration movement, shifting their salary accounts to other banks offering fairer and more transparent services.
Leading the call, Sajad Bhat, a government employee and prominent voice among the working class, has strongly urged all stakeholders — employees, unions, and civil society groups — to unite and send a clear message to JK Bank that its highhandedness will no longer be tolerated.
“This is not just about delayed salaries or technical issues — this is about deliberate financial harassment. The unjust deduction of double EMIs, and the illogical fixing of 3rd of every month as the deduction date when salaries arrive around the 15th, is a direct attack on the dignity and livelihood of hardworking employees,” said Bhat in a scathing statement.
He further appealed to all account holders in JK Bank — especially government employees — to immediately begin shifting their accounts to more responsible and people-friendly banks. Bhat emphasized that this movement is not just financial, but symbolic — a stance against misuse of power and systemic neglect.
Several unions and employee bodies have echoed this sentiment, expressing deep resentment against JK Bank’s continued silence and lack of corrective action, despite repeated complaints and protests.
“We are not bonded to any institution. If JK Bank cannot respect the people who sustain it, the people will walk away. Enough is enough,” Bhat declared.
The call for mass migration is quickly gaining ground, with thousands of employees showing interest in switching to banks like SBI, PNB, and HDFC, which offer better service, timely updates, and customer support.
This movement is expected to intensify in the coming days, as anger mounts and voices rise louder against what many are calling “financial tyranny by JK Bank.”
