Rajouri 27-04-2025 (TRT) Aroof khan During the intervening night of 26-27/04/2025, a police party from Police Station Gharota, while conducting checking and patrolling at village Showa within the jurisdiction of the station, signaled an Alto car bearing registration number JK02BG-1498 to stop. However, the driver attempted to flee. The police party immediately gave chase, but the driver managed to escape, abandoning the vehicle by the roadside under the cover of darkness.Upon inspection, the vehicle was found loaded with 18 pieces and twigs of Khair wood, suspected to be illegally transported for undue profit. In this regard, a report was entered at Police Station Gharota. After completing all necessary legal formalities, the seized vehicle along with the Khair wood was handed over to the Forest Department for further legal action under the Forest Act. Compassion an envoirnmental organisation of Rajouri hailed the Police of Ghrota for this swift and effective recovery. Compassion urged the peoples to cooperate the police to nab such a smugglers.
