Sanjay Sharma Meets Lt. Governor of Jammu & Kashmir; Submits Memorandum on Key Development Issues in Rajouri

Jammu  [06/03/2025]: Today, Sanjay Sharma met with the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Jammu & Kashmir to present a memorandum highlighting urgent development concerns in Rajouri. The memorandum addressed three key issues crucial for the town’s infrastructure and public welfare. Sharma pointed out that a significant piece of land owned by the Education Department in Ward No. 12 of Rajouri is currently being used as a dumping site, leading to an unhygienic environment and waste of valuable space. He proposed the development of a multi-level parking facility on this land to reduce traffic congestion, provide organized parking, and promote smoother commercial activities, ultimately boosting the local economy. Highlighting the town’s severe water scarcity, Sharma emphasized the urgent need to replace at least 75 outdated and damaged water supply pipes. Under the Mission Amrit scheme, this initiative would ensure a steady and clean water supply for residents, significantly mitigating the ongoing water crisis and improving overall living conditions. With a growing population, Rajouri town requires enhanced healthcare infrastructure. Sharma proposed utilizing available land within the town to establish a Primary Health Centre (PHC). This facility would provide accessible and quality healthcare services, reducing the burden on existing medical institutions and improving public health outcomes. The Hon’ble Lt. Governor assured that the memorandum would be reviewed, and necessary steps would be taken to address these pressing issues. Sanjay Sharma expressed hope that these proposals would be acted upon swiftly for the betterment of Rajouri town and its residents.
