Rajouri, (Khan)February 18, 2025 – Expressing deep concern over the unchecked menace of unfair means, copying, and cheating in the ongoing Class 10 and 12 examinations in Rajouri district, Awake India Chairman Ayaz Mughal has written to the Secretary of School Education, J&K, urging immediate and strict action against those facilitating this malpractice.In his letter (No. AI/GEN/25/04, Dated 18/02/2025), Mughal has highlighted the failure of examiners in curbing the rampant cheating at several Higher Secondary Schools in the district. He has also exposed an alleged nexus between officials in the CEO office and certain examiners, who, for hefty sums, are ensuring favorable postings to help students cheat.Mughal has strongly condemned the organized corruption in the examination system, emphasizing that those involved are destroying the future of students by promoting a culture of dishonesty. He urged stern action against these corrupt elements, including examiners and officials, who are compromising the integrity of the education system for financial gains.”Education is the backbone of a progressive society, and allowing cheating to thrive not only ruins students’ futures but also devalues the credibility of our academic institutions,” he stated, demanding an urgent inquiry and strict legal action against those found guilty.The Awake India Chairman also called upon the district administration and law enforcement agencies to intervene and put an end to the malpractice before it causes irreparable damage to the education sector in Rajouri.Following this revelation, parents, teachers, and students have also voiced their concerns, urging authorities to identify and punish those involved in this fraudulent system. The ball is now in the court of the education department to act decisively and restore faith in the fairness and sanctity of board examinations.With mounting pressure from civil society and education activists, all eyes are now on the J&K School Education Department to see if it will take concrete steps to cleanse the examination system or allow corruption to flourish unchecked.
