salani River, a major tributary river of district has been turned into a dumping site in the salani area of rajouri district causing immense damage to the water body in particular and to the environment in general.
MCR is openly dumping waste and garbage near the salani bridge of rajouri
“Dogs are always seen in many areas as they keep searching for food in these dumping spots, posing a threat to locals particularly students,” locals said.
mr. Ishtiaq , a local, said years ago rajouri rivers were fresh and thousands of people would use it for bathing and cleaning purposes. People would take a bath in it, now you can see that it has been reduced to a mere cesspool.
He said there is no mechanism to dump the solid waste. “municipalitty throw all the garbage including polythene, plastic into the river,” at salani bridge, he added.
Meanwhile, Residents Appealed to the district administration of rajouri 
to look into the matter at the earliest.
